My name is Jenna and I am a born and raised SoCal girl, who recently returned after a some time in Chicago and Atlanta. I do not think I truly appreciated the place I get to call home until after a couple Midwest winters and long flights to visit family. I may be a brand marketer by profession, but I have always been passionate about health and fitness. A true Southern California girl, I grew up surfing, swimming and playing beach volleyball. These interests led me to a life of activity as an adult from participating in triathlons to just goofing around on stand up paddle boards.
I live by the motto “live life with no regrets” and am a firm believer that you cannot say you like or dislike something until you have tried it for yourself. For me that translates to activities (from bungee jumping to a new fitness class), to food (that is how I tried scorpion in China), and to people (you never know the friendships that are possible until you give them a chance).
My health goals have always been personally focused…until last year. With the start of 2015 and my notion of #newyearbetterme, part of that is helping friends to accomplish their goals. Whether my friends want to run their first half-marathon or practice better nutrition, I am here to support them and help however I may.
I have never started a blog for the fear that no one would care what I have to say. I am not a personal trainer nor am I a nutritionist. However, there are others like me who do research, love to cook, and enjoy helping others – so I made the decision to take the plunge. Why not? If only one person stumbles across this site and finds it helpful (or remotely interesting), I consider that a success!
I look forward to embarking on this new journey and encourage you to reach out with any comments or questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
